To All Americans All Over The World

I see that it has been some time since I posted. I simply got bogged down in my most recent novel and trying to do a few things that I felt was more important.

I see that others have joined in with me and linked with this. Nice to have you.

There is a stamp dealer of long standing and a worthy reputation. There are others.

Five minutes back I was posting a comment on a "bird"web site. They needed money to save a partucular bird that nests thousands of miles from me. To save them they were requesting "Five Dollars To Save Five Birds." Below is what I posted. Please take it to heart.

The Tricolored Blackbirds, " Five Dollars For Five Birds." The simple fact is that it takes money to save these birds and all other birds and animals, and children too. The biggest givers in the written history of the world has been the "middle-class" of America. Sadly, so many are tapped out and feel unable to give. So; save just one bird and send one dollar. You get it: if one million people did just that and did it from time to time it would make the difference. Factor in the 49 cents to post a check and off it goes. Relatively speaking, let us consider the sum that has and will be spent on the political elections. They say it will add-up to at least two billion smackers. That is one hell of a lot of money. Send a dollar, save the beauty of our world, send another buck to a group like Focus Adolescent Services and save an American child, send a buck to Wounded Warriors and help one of our troops. That comes to $3.00 plus postage and an envelope; the same that many spent today for a cup of coffee, a soda pop, or that tasty extra hamburger at lunch. This is small when we know that the few bucks will be used honestly. Break out your check book, save a bird, save a child in America, and help a veteran. When we all do this at a dollar at a time, just a dollar; a can of Coca Cola costs that or more, ( I know they are no longer that 5 cent green bottle). This is doable. This most all of us can do without having to turn the piggy-bank up-side down.

The Great American Hope, Still Hope

Yes, It has been some time. I retain the hope. But, it is looking pretty bleak. I worry so about our elderly folks. No, the ones who worked their lives, thirty to forty plus years. Saved their money, watched what they bought, paid cash, and even helped others along the way. As Winter begins to set in, I wonder how they will afford to stay warm. Right, cut the thermostate back to sixty, layer up, night caps, plenty of quilts and hot water bottles. The price to fill the standard 275 gallon oil tank this Winter will be? And, how many tanks will a couple burn, even with cut backs. It says somewhere to do your good deeds and then shut up about them. Too many need to call their agents, the AP, so that all the world knows what "good' they have done. This Christmas, just by calling your oil company, you can find a 94 year old couple who could use a few gallons. Just a thought to keep the hope real.

Great American Hope & The Rest of the World

We all have websites that we admire, that we think are serving the world. I refer to one for information a lot. I will share mine if you will share yours. Mine is www.focusas.com. They provide information to parents and professionals dealing with troubled teens. Not necessarily, the inner city youth so much, as the children of the more educated and certainly those with a higher income. It is these children we are loosing. It is these children who are dropping out of school due to boredom. Please hit it and send your buck to them. Then post yours....
